D2 Technologies Introduces Enhanced Version of mCUE® 4G with Advanced RCS Features and Secure VoWiFi Support
D2 Technologies extends the GSMA’s “green button promise” at Mobile World Congress
Barcelona (Mobile World Congress) and Santa Barbara, CA – March 1, 2015 — D2 Technologies, the market leader in embedded IP communications software platforms, is debuting an enhanced version of its mCUE 4G embedded IMS client this week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. This new version of mCUE 4G natively integrates advanced communications functionality in mobile devices and introduces advanced RCS functionality and secure VoWiFi capabilities.
In the GSMA Innovation City in MWC’s Hall 3, D2 will show how its mCUE 4G IMS client delivers on and extends the GSMA’s “green button promise,” the seamless combination of RCS, VoLTE (IR.92), Video Call (IR.94) and VoWiFi (IR.51) functionality. In this demo, D2 will connect to IMS and LTE infrastructure elements from NewNet and Node-H.
“It’s an exciting time for mobile IP communications and the advancements we’re debuting in this demonstration represent the ‘What’s next?’ for IMS-based communications services,” said Doug Makishima, chief operating officer for D2 Technologies. “Delivering high-quality voice and video calls over both 4G and secure WiFi, combined with rich messaging in a completely seamless and native experience is something that consumers should expect and we’re providing that now.”
D2 Technologies’ mCUE 4G software implements these rich-call and rich-messaging features natively in the mobile handset for a completely seamless user experience. Examples of the new advanced features of mCUE 4G include pre-call message, reject with message, soft call notification and simultaneous screen sharing and white-boarding.
“This demonstration showcases the versatility and feature completeness of NewNet’s KryptonConnect platform,” said Brent Newsome, VP of Business Development for NewNet’s Messaging division. “Fixed and mobile operators can build new and innovative RCS products and services using KryptonConnect.”
“The improved user experience coming from IMS functionality and a massive increase in capacity from small cells is part of the future of mobile connectivity,” Node-H CEO Mike Cronin said. “An LTE small cell provides perfect LTE network coverage in the enterprise or at home and this extends the advantages of VoLTE perfectly.”
