Analog Telephony Adaptor

ImageThe Analog Telephony Adaptor (ATA) is used as the main gateway between the Internet-based VoIP service and standard analog telephones that normally connect to the PSTN line. The ATA allows the existing set of end user telephones, answering machines, and faxes to use VoIP rather than the traditional PSTN. ATAs emulate the PSTN line (FXS) to convert analog telephony signals to VoIP signaling and media streams, so voice call can be transported over the Internet.

Broadband VoIP Gateway

The Broadband VoIP Gateway is used as the home gateway between the Internet-based VoIP service and standard analog telephones that normally connect to the PSTN line. The Broadband VoIP Gateway allows the existing set of end user telephones, answering machines, and faxes to use VoIP rather than the traditional PSTN. Broadband VoIP Gateway embedded with ATA function emulates the PSTN line (FXS) to convert analog telephony signals to VoIP signaling and media streams, so voice call can be transported over the Internet.

Broadband Wireless VoIP Gateway

The Broadband Wireless VoIP Gateway is used as the home wireless gateway between the Internet-based VoIP service and standard analog telephones that normally connect to the PSTN line. The Broadband Wireless VoIP Gateway allows the existing set of end user telephones, answering machines, and faxes to use VoIP over wireless networks including WiFi, WiMAX, 3G/CDMA, LTE rather than traditional PSTN. Broadband Wireless VoIP Gateway embedded with ATA function emulates the PSTN line (FXS) to convert analog telephony signals to VoIP signaling and media streams, so voice calls can be transported wirelessly over the Internet. Emerging markets may deploy fixed wireless access based on WiFi, WiMAX, 3G/CDMA, and LTE to provide high speed connectivity to rural areas where a wired connection would be prohibitively expensive to deploy. xDSL+WiFi+VoIP Triple-Play IAD

The demand for ever faster Internet access to support multiple new applications such as IPTV, VoIP, VoD and video conferencing is increasing rapidly.  ADSL2+  (ITU-T G.992.5) and VDSL2 (ITU-T G.993.2) uses the existing copper wire infrastructure for transmission of up to 48 Mbps or 250 Mbps each and is now being deployed to subscribers in key regions worldwide to meet bandwidth demand.  With the increased bandwidth, VoIP service will be a common application in xDSL deployments.  Embedded VoIP software can be used to add VoIP capability to ADDSL2+ and VDSL2 gateways and IADs.

External DSP Software Module

The vOpen library consists of a comprehensive set of field-proven voice algorithms and industry-standard voice protocols. The data input and output, memory allocation and module-to-module communication interfaces of the voice algorithms conform to the vOpen Interface Specification. This ensures that each algorithm will easily integrate and run concurrently with other vOpen algorithms, and handle multiple voice channels simultaneously. The vOpen voice algorithms are C-callable and can be used within D2's vOpen Framework or a customer-provided application framework. The vOpen algorithms are available for MIPS, ARM, x86 and PowerPC cores and the Texas Instruments family of DSP processors.

D2’s vOpen is an ideal voice/video DSP algorithms for any VoIP/Video devices requiring two to 1000+ (thousands) of voice/video channels.
