D2 Technologies to Discuss the State of 4G Device Deployment at 4G Wireless Evolution

Doug Makishima to lead discussion of 4G wireless devices at event collocated with ITEXPO West 2010 

Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, CA (ITEXPO West 2010) – September 29, 2010 — D2 Technologies, the market leader in embedded IP communications software platforms, today announced that chief operating officer Doug Makishima will moderate and participate in “4G Devices: Perspective from the Operator, Device Manufacturer and Component Vendor” at 4G Wireless Evolution, held in conjunction with ITEXPO West 2010 at the Los Angeles (CA) Convention Center, October 4-6. During this presentation on Monday, October 4 at 2:15 p.m., Makishima and others will address how the industry is responding to the new opportunities presented by the many features and capabilities of 4G devices, as well as how the addition of WiMAX and LTE networks affects the component marketplace. 

Additional participants include Craig Miller, vice president of marketing and business development for Sequans Communications, Asokan Thiyagarajan, director of platforms and technology strategy for Samsung Telecommunications America, and Dow Draper, vice president of Clearwire. 

On Tuesday, October 5 at 11:30 a.m., Makishima will also be a presenter at “Achieving HD Voice on Smartphones,” a breakout session within the Mobile Communications track at ITEXPO West 2010. During this forum, Makishima will discuss how the delivery of high definition voice is being supported by the industry, and what adaptations will need to take place within the service provider sector.
