Santa Barbara, CA and Paris, France (VoLTE Conference 2012) – October 8, 2012 — D2 Technologies, the market leader in embedded IP communications software platforms, today announced that chief operating officer Doug Makishima is a primary speaker at VoLTE Conference 2012, being held at the Hotel Novotel Convention Roissy CDG in Paris, France October 10-12. During his first presentation, “4G IMS Android Smartphone Rollout” on Thursday, October 11 at 11:30 a.m., Makishima discusses the May 2012 launch of the world’s first 4G all IP communications smartphone, YTL’s Eclipse. The Eclipse is the precursor to a full voice over LTE (VoLTE ) and rich communications (RCS) native experience, and is powered by D2’s mCUE® 4G, a converged 4G mobile communications client for VoLTE and RCS video calling.
Makishima’s second presentation, “VoLTE Device Integration and Optimization Considerations,” will occur on Friday, October 12 at 2:30 p.m. During this talk, participants will hear a debate of the pros and cons of VoLTE engines running on app processors or on LTE modems. He will also touch on the impact of adding VoLTE to Android or other mobile operating systems and how to solve the IMS dual-registration issue when running RCS on the same device.
