D2 Appoints Doug Makishima as VP of Marketing

SANTA BARBARA, CA, September 6, 2006 – D2 Technologies announces today that it has appointed Doug Makishima to the post of VP of Marketing. Makishima reports to Dr. David Wong, president of D2. The company is best known for its vPort VoIP software, which is deployed in both consumer and small business products, and is designed for applications such as wired/wireless Voice-enabled Terminal Adapters, routers and gateways, as well VoIP phones and handsets.

Doug Makishima has over 19 years of marketing and engineering experience in the networking and communications industries. He served as VP of Marketing for Intoto, a leading network security vendor. Prior to joining Intoto in 2004, Mr. Makishima served as vice president of marketing for Hifn, a leading provider of security and network processors, and Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Parkervision, a wireless communications solutions provider. In his senior management positions at Nortel Networks, Bay Networks, AMD and Adaptec, he managed the marketing and development of advanced networking and storage products. During his engineering career, Mr. Makishima was responsible for the development of a patented storage IC technology. He holds a BSEE from the University of California, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
